Hexham
Hexham is a market town located south of the River Town. It's beautiful Abbey is situated close to two other buildings worth visiting: The Old Gaol and the Moot Hall.
There are many smaller towns and villages that surround Hexham, such as Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield, Wylam to the east, Acomb and Bellingham to the north, Allendale to the south and Haydon Bridge, Bardon Mill and Haltwhistle to the west. The closest major city to Hexham is Newcastle upon Tyne which is about 25 miles (40 km) to the east.

A day out at Bardon Mill can be great fun and at the same time very interesting. You can learn all about the workings of the Mill, how we create classic pottery and hear some amusing stories associated with the Mill. There is also a nice pub next door where you can have a bite to eat
Bardon Mill is situated adjacent to the A69 Trunk Road on the edge of Northumberland National Park not far from the most popular length of Hadrian's Wall and the lovely town of Hexham which is only a few miles away
